About the Club

The West Desert Amateur Radio Club is sponsored by Tooele County Emergency Management (TCEM). The Club is an ARRL-affiliated Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) club.

The Club’s purposes:

  • Foster amateur radio in and around Tooele County
  • Provide emergency communications as requested by TCEM or related agencies
  • Provide training opportunities for local amateur radio operators
  • Provide examination preparation classes and license exams for those wishing to obtain or upgrade an amateur radio license

Club meetings are held monthly on the first Wednesday evening of the month at 7pm. When possible, club meetings are held in-person at TCEM’s Emergency Operations Center located at 15 East 100 South, Tooele, UT 84074.

The Club is a 501(c)3 corporation. The WDARC-CONSTITUTION and the WDARC-BYLAWS are available for viewing and download.

New members are welcome. There is no requirement to have an amateur radio license to join the club, only an interest in the world of the Amateur Radio Service. If you would like to join the Club, please click on WDARC Membership Application.

The Club collects publicly available information on all amateur radio operators located in Tooele County, Utah. Amateur radio operators who join the Club are asked to provide additional information, including their phone number, email address, and information about their amateur radio capabilities.

This information is stored in a database not accessible to the outside world. It is only accessible to authorized, logged-in users.
