There are two sets of minutes provided for April. While there weren’t two meetings, I suspect that the other April minutes were actually March minutes. (Roland K7OJL)

Minutes of the West Desert Amateur Radio Club held through Zoom on April 1, 2020.

President Robert Andrews began the meeting at 7:02.

The Treasury report was given by Mert Russo.
She also told about the ARRL membership registration and how they reimburse the club money with each new membership. She has also been working with a company to put the WDARC logo onto hats and window decals. Motion to accept report by Roland Smith. Seconded by Norm Burraston. Treasury report accepted by the club.

The minutes of March read by Rhona Boutwell. Motion to accept made by Glen Murray, seconded by Mike Stewart. Minutes accepted by the club.

Roland Smith reported about the way the club assisted when the earthquake occured in Magna. He also informed the club that the May 2 exercise was postponed.
Nets would now be held 2 times a day at 1 pm and 9 pm for the time being.

For the presentation of the meeting Roland Smith did a presentation about the Orion Damage Assessment program.

Robert Andrews opened for a discussion for options of Mesh Network and for a virtual technician class.

Minutes for the West Desert Amateur Radio Club held April 3, 2019 at
the Tooele County Emergency Operations Center.

Meeting was called to order by President Robert Andrews at 7:00.
Welcomed those in attendance.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ray Riding.

Treasurer report was given by Mert Russo.
Gene May motioned to accept, Roger Redmond seconded. Treasurer’s
report was accepted by the club.

Ray Riding brought told club about the pricing for the shirts and passed
out order forms

Mickey Applebaum told about the Salt Flats Endurance Run and other
Utah SAG activities.

Mel Parks who is currently running for Amateur Radio Relay League for
ARRL as the Utah Section Manager. He presented information about
ARES Connect, Rocky Mountain Division Convention as well as ARRL is
looking for a Technical Specialist.

Roland Smith congratulated Joseph Smith and Rex Carr on their
achievement of passing their exams to advance their classification. April

April 20 will be the next exam session at the TCEM. Technician class to start
soon on Mondays.

Minutes for the West Desert Amateur Radio Club held March 6, 2019 at
the Tooele County Emergency Operations Center.

Meeting was called to order by President Robert Andrews at 7:02.

Ray Riding brought samples of the new logo for the club and told about
the options he has available to embroidery on hats, shirts and other
options.

Pat Malan who is currently running for Amateur Radio Relay League for
ARRL as the Utah Section Manager. He introduced himself to the group
and told us about the position he is running for.

Clint Thomsen presented about his group of students at Tooele Blue
Peak High School and their project of the balloon launches the student
have been doing for the last couple years.

Minutes of WDARC Meeting December 5, 2018
Meeting called to order at 7:02 by President Robert Andrews.
Elections were held in November meeting with everyone accepted that was nominated by acclamation.
Roland Smith led the Pledge of Allegiance
Erline Burgi presented the treasury report.
Roger Redmond motioned to accept, Gene May 2 nd club agreed to accept report.

Roland Smith announced that there would be a technician class beginning January 4 and a general class will begin on January 5 at the TCEM building.
Wendover will start classes in February.

Bills and receipts were presented to club by Erline for approval to reimburse Roland Smith for expenses relating the class and testing expenses. Glenn Murray motioned to approve seconded by Gene May and accepted by club.
Roland Smith proposed that those that are taking the class gets the first year of club dues paid by the club. Roger Redmond motioned to accept, Gene May seconded club approved action.

Gregg Bottelberghre’s widow Sharon donated his equipment to the club.

Our guest speaker is Jennings T Smith. He delivered a presentation on EMPs and Faraday Cages.

Roland Smith made announcement of the field day plan on June 23, 2018. At 10 a.m. at the county building starting 10 a.m.

June 9 at 10 a.m. at the Tooele Shop there will be a test run practice day.

Roland Smith will also be asking the mayor of Tooele to make a proclamation for the week of June 18-23 for Amateur Radio week.

Ray Riding announced about the Utah Ham Fest Aug 8, 9, and 10 2019 at Weber State University.
Club Logo options were presented and a logo designed was motioned to accept by Robert Andrews and seconded by Roland Smith.

Mert Russo suggested a BBQ at possibly Stansbury Park on August 1, 2018

Minutes of the WDARC club meeting on May 2, 2018 at TCEM building

Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice President Jim Osterud conducting. President Robert Andrews was excused from the meeting tonight.

Baofeng Radios are available for purchase from an acquaintance of Roland Smith for $25.00.

Clint Thompson’s students at the CLC will launch a payload around May 19 up around Tremonton area.

Presentation for the night was Robin Frederickson. Her presentation was on the Tooele County Emergency Response program called Tooele Responds. She also gave information about the Tooele Ready.org website.

Meeting was calling to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Robert Andrews.

Bucky Whitehouse presented the plans and how the Emergency Management of Tooele County is working to help the club to work for the benefit of the county during emergency.

The county has a mobile trailer that the club can use during emergencies.

There is an advisory group for the EOC and the WDARC.  The committee consists of:

Alert Sense- It is the county’s way to get alerts to the general populations through this app.

Ray Riding provided information about the RACES and ARES programs of HAM radio

Roland Smith provided information about the Alert Sense program.

Robin Frederickson talked about her position as Volunteer Preparedness Coordinator

The Shake Out will be on April 19 at 10:15 a.m.  At 7:00 p.m. on the net the LDS stake communication specialist have been invited to check in.

The LDS Collaborations meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the EOC.

The TCEM are going to try to do more drills.

Thomas Carlisle shared his logo suggestions.
